Location, Location, Location - the view of Isola Bella whilst on the Beach (or in the bungalow looking out) is exceptional. Equally exceptional - the food in the restaurant (although quite pricey). Staff were all friendly and professional. The hotel is away from the town centre making it quieter but there is a cable car to the centre 10 minutes (uphill!) away.

Location (right on the little bay opposite Isola Bella), comfort (excellent, modern, clean rooms), friendly (helpful staff, well-trained, genuinely friendly). After the first night I asked the staff if they could help me with the floor-mounted lights on my terrace for which I could not find a switch and they said they would investigate. They found out that the lights were on a timer and so they carefully taped over them with duct tape so they would not affect my sleep. This was a very thoughtful touch. The breakfast was also really excellent. I like a light breakfast with some fruit, yoghurt and occasionally an egg or a sausage. The breakfast room is inviting - light and airy with a great terrace, and it served exactly “my kind of breakfast”. In the evening I ate in the restaurant - a delightful experience with superb food and excellent service. This is a very good hotel

The views were amazing, the rooms were amazing and the restaurants were amazing! All the staff gave over 100% attention to the guest and really cared that we were having a good time. The cleaning staff were constantly ensuring the rooms were to a high standard, even visited twice a day to make sure we had enough towels and clean room for before bed time. One of the reception staff came running to us with an umbrella to keep us dry when it was raining and we were walking to reception for a taxi. You can not fault any of the staff, the food or accommodation.

Great facilities with all the luxuries you'd expect from a 5 star location. Breakfast had all the conceivable food options available. Excellent rocky beach with amazing clear water, and bungalows are all within 50 meters of it. Taormina is a lovely town, probably best in all of Sicily. Note that it takes at least half an hour to get there, as you have to take either the cable car or the bus.

This is an outstanding hotel. From the moment we entered it was perfection. You come through a small tunnel and the front desk staff is waiting to greet you personally. You are offered a drink and the check in was a breeze. We stayed in room 206 which was a bungalow. It was perfectly clean and so comfortable. The room is gorgeous. The room staff came several times per day and there were always clean towels. At this resort you are guaranteed a lounge bed with a thick pillow no matter what time you arrive to the beach. The beach is pebble and they even have shoes for you. The beach lifeguard/staff were amazing. The beach bar is right there. There are quick lunch items that they will bring to your lounge chair or you can go to the lunch tables overlooking the sea. The mussels were outstanding and the Cesar salad with chicken amazing. The beach is directly next to Isola Bella. Could not be a better location. Breakfast is fantastic with so many choices and outstanding service. We also dined at Fusion for dinner with was beyond amazing. The serve and food was perfection. If you want the beach location, it’s just short drive up the hill by taxi or a quick walk to the lift. This hotel is a must stay! Plenty of parking and just amazing 5 star service. You cannot go wrong here. BRAVO to the staff at La Plage!

Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. On our first day, we collected our car from Catania, had to navigate using an Italian speaking sat-nav, through little streets, traffic, not great roads, we finally reached the hotel and it had been a stressful day. When we arrived, there was a function on, so carpark was crazy, but we managed to find a 'spot'! When they found out we were checking in, they moved our car to a 'reserved spot!!', brought us into lounge to see the amazing view, gave us a glass of sparkling and then bags where in our room!! then relax! wow. Exactly what we needed. Then another day, it had been raining so not many people around, but was clearing, so we sat in the bar and although the kitchen had closed, they still made us a pizza.

I am always reading reviews before travelling. Was a bit worried after seeing some of them. My advice is, if you want to enjoy the time in full, don’t choose the cheapest bungalow. Take one with jacuzzi. It feels more private, better planning of room. The location, staff, food is perfect! We enjoyed our holidays in full! Children were crying the day we left. Thank you!

Location was just perfect, waking up to that view. Being able to go straight in the sea was nice too. We had a beach bungalow with a hot tub, so in the evenings or morning you could sit in the tub and take it all in, hearing just the waves crashing on the beach. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great We will definitely be coming back
